Faith Formation Program – FAQ
Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding St. Therese Institute's School of Faith and Mission and the Nine-Month Faith Formation Program.
1. Program Overview
To find out more detailed information about St.T's Faith Formation Program, please download & view the FAITH FORMATION PROGRAM OVERVIEW (2.3mb PDF, revised June 2017)
The purpose of the faith formation program at St. Therese School of Faith and Mission is simply to engage the student in a personal encounter with the person of Jesus Christ, within an environment of prayer and community, following in the footsteps traced for us by our patroness, St. Thérèse. In this sacred space, students will experience the saving power of Jesus Christ, the fulness of life in the Holy Spirit, and the Good News of the Father’s merciful love. Students may in turn, by their lived example of the faith, quietly draw all whom they meet into a similar encounter with the person of Christ, thereby becoming, each one, a “light unto the world.”
3. Our Patroness: St. Thérèse of Lisieux
As a model for this spirituality taught and lived at St. Therese School of Faith and Mission, we follow the example of our patroness, St. Thérèse of Lisieux, and her path of "spiritual childhood" as expressed in her "little way", and also the complementary "spirituality of Nazareth" taught by Catherine Doherty, Servant of God. Thus the spiritual life embraced by St. Therese School of Faith and Mission has a character that is distinctly Eucharistic, Marian, faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Magisterium of His Church, open to the movement of the Holy Spirit, and ordered first to personal sanctity and then to the sanctification of the world.
The School of Faith and Mission accomplishes the work of its mission by proposing and living a spirituality of humility, surrender and trust in the Lord, lived out in the faithful attention to our daily duties, often humble and apparently unimportant, but in which we discover the will of God for each of us. This life at St. Therese is lived in a context of basic Christian community within which students learn right ordered relationship with God and with neighbor, while developing a habit of personal and liturgical prayer, intellectual development, faith formation, discernment, and an understanding of the calling and role of the lay person in the Catholic Church as defined by the Gospel, the documents of the Second Vatican Council and the subsequent teachings of the Popes, particularly Paul VI, John Paul II, Benedict XV, and Francis.
5. Engaging the World
St. Therese School of Faith and Mission is a school for experiencing God's love. It is a school teaching us to live a life with Love. No matter what our students do upon completing St. Therese, what is of paramount importance is that the students leave here experiencing and living in the amazing and profound love of the Father. St. Therese Institute strives to lead the student into a profound encounter with the living Christ, so as to prepare them to engage the world, like the Blessed Virgin Mary, with a posture of docility and openness, eager to serve Christ wherever and however He may call.
"The whole concern of doctrine and its teaching must be directed to the love that never ends. Whether something is proposed for belief, for hope or for action, the love of our Lord must always be made accessible, so that everyone can see that all the works of perfect Christian virtue spring from love and have no other objective than to arrive at love." Catechism of the Catholic Church, #25
6. Trimesters & Courses

Trimestered classes cover the first and second trimester. The teachings of the third trimester are delivered conference-style (see Springtime of the Faith conference series).
