Lenten Conference 2017 (9th Annual) with Jimmy Mitchell

Mercy to Mercy
Receiving the Father's Love from Creation to the Cross

Jimmy Mitchell - St. Therese Lenten Conference 2017 speaker

Jimmy Mitchell is a beloved son, traveling troubador, and aspiring saint. He loves good music, books, coffee, and culture. Having now lived in Nashville longer than any other place on earth, Jimmy proudly enjoys his city’s roots in country music and recent fame over hot chicken. However, his greatest passion is helping young people (and older people too!) discover the mystery of God’s love and the beauty of Christian culture. In 2010, he founded Mysterium with a vision for evangelization and discipleship that has brought him to every corner of the world hosting retreats and speaking at conferences.

His favorite artists at the moment? NEEDTOBREATHE, Ben Rector, The Lumineers, Adele, and The Oh Hellos. Favorite authors? C.S. Lewis, G.K. Chesterton, Sheldon Vanauken, and Michael D. O’Brien.

Curious for more? Hit him up on TwitterInstagram, and Facebook.

 Conference Sessions

Here are a few of the key themes that Jimmy will be sharing on. Along with his teachings, Jimmy will share personal stories and original songs that captures the essence of each topic.

  • Glory of it All. Understanding the depth of God's merciful love at Creation and the severity of our Fall from His divine life. Explore God's creative love for humanity and our need for redemption in Christ after rejecting that love through original sin.
  • Mercy Made New. Understanding the beauty of our redemption in Christ, the God-Man who enters human history through the womb of a Virgin. Unpack the staggering doctrine of the Incarnation, that foundational and uniquely Christian truth of God taking on our humanity that we might share in His divinity.
  • Living as Mystics and Missionaries in the Modern World. Understanding the grandeur of our call to holiness and the dignity of our call to join Jesus in His redemption of the world. Uncover the call to have true happiness of life with Christ, to chase hard after eternity, and to seek to bring as many souls with us to Heaven as possible.
