Its focus and purpose is to spread the spirituality of St. Thérèse of Lisieux and her "little way" as lived by the community of students embarking on St. Therese School's Faith Formation Program and as taught through the Healing and Growth Centre, as well as keep you informed of what has and is happening at St. Therese Institute.

ERROR CORRECTION: The "Divine Mercy Conference" dates listed on Page 10 should read Feb. 23-26, 2012 (not Feb 18-20, 2011 which were last year's dates). This has been corrected in the online version of TLW as of Jan 4, 2012, 5:20pm CST.

The latest edition of St. Therese Institute's The Little Way Magazine! The Infant Jesus, to whom St. Thérèse of Lisieux had a great devotion (after all, she even took 'the Child Jesus' as part of her religious name!), is at the forefront of this edition of The Little Way Magazine. Dr. Robert Stackpole, STD's article Blessings Brought by the Christ Child and Sr Gemma Labestre's The Christmas Grace show us how Jesus' incarnation can be truly realized and lived in our lives. Fr. Jeffery Stephaniuk, a prolific Saskatchewan Pro-Life blogger and the newest member of our Board of Directors, shares an in-magazine blog post his journey to St. Therese Institute in O Son of God, Glorious in Your Saints. And discover a new Epiphany tradition for your household in Christus Mansionem Benedicat, plus dive into the history of the three Magi who we celebrate at Epiphany in Lisa Anderson's series, Saints Alive! Read cover to cover for more great articles: Boiler explosions (okay, so not such a 'great' happening, by any means!!!)... humerous tree catastrophies... and more!

Year three was a wonderful year with 1) a great God; 2) great students and amazing staff; and 3) success in negotiating a resolution with the Town of Bruno to erase the tremendous property tax burden that had been leveled against St. Therese Institute's facility (approximately $225,000 for 2008 and 2009 property taxes!!!!!). This edition of The Little Way only focuses on the first two of these points. The articles feature mainly the experiences of the students and visitors as the reflect back on their time at St. Therese School of Faith and Mission. Chris O'Hara (STS 2010) shares again in this issue, privileging us with the opportunity to read A Letter to a Friend.

To kick-off year three, this 20-page edition of The Little Way features stories from three alumni -- Daring to Step Out - Chris O'Hara (STS 2010); Booze and Bongs - Sylvie Quiring (STS 2009 & 2010); and, From Bruno to China - Danielle Baillareon (STS 2009) -- and about their experiences coming to and living out the Faith Formation they received from their time at St. Therese School of Faith and Mission. The main feature article, StT staff member Lisa Anderson's From the Heart of Little Thérèse, tells her story of coming to know St.Thérèse and St. Therese Institute, and how she's grown in relationship with both of them. Director Jim Anderson's I Belieive in Love reflects on surrendering to "Him whom is LOVE." There are plenty more articles as well -- I'll leave them for you to discover :)

Welcome to the end of our second year of life! This edition of The Little Way celebrates that milestone with articles about various aspects of this year, including Eastern-rite Iconography and icon writing, School of Faith and Mission Commissioning 2009 and Marissa Banadyga's Valedictory Address (which has become a tradition to print in all subsequent Summer editions), the grandiose undertaking of touring 25th Street Theatre's original Saskatchewan-centric hit play, Paper Wheat, and intercessory prayer (courtesy the Healing and Growth Centre). In addition, you'll find a 2-page-spread detailing ever major event that had taken place over the year -- looking back at it now... boy were we crazy-busy!! But craziness for God is always rewarded :)

The first edition of the 2008-2009, like its newsletter-esque predecessor late in 2007 (TLW.1.2), focused on the reader getting to know each of the students of the 2008-2009 class through short student write-ups and lots of student activity photos, plus several updates from alumni. The magazine feel of The Little Way continued to grow with the inclusion of several articles on growing in holiness, authored by Most Rev. Albert LeGatt (Bishop of Saskatoon, SK at the time) and Rev. Albert LaLonde (Winnipeg, MB). Jim Anderson also penned a great article on St. Therese School of Faith and Mission -- a great update to the original thoughts expressed back in the venerable Original newsletter of May 2007.

What a first year for St. Therese Institute! This edition of The Little Way featured stories and photos about our Grand Opening celebration, St. Therese School of Faith and Mission's first students, and the students' trip to the 49th International Eucharistic Congress in Quebec City, QC, with the student production of St. Thérèse of Lisieux's 1896 play, The Triumph of Humility. (As far as we've been able to find out, it was the first time that this play was ever performed in English in North America, and possibly the world!)The Triumph of Humility was the first of 3 plays performed by the students of St. Therese as part of their third trimester classes: Triumph was followed by the revival of 25th Street Theatre's Saskatchewan-original Paper Wheat in 2009 (see TLW 2.2) and Robert Bolt's classic A Man for All Seasons in 2010 (see TLW 3.2).

The first publication -- the protoype of The Little Way -- produced by St. Therese Institute, highlighting the programs offered by the new Institute that would soon be opening in Bruno, Saskatchewan.
You'll notice that some of the content is a bit out-of-date (perhaps the most obvious being our name, which was initially "St. Therese Catholic College of Faith and Mission"). As you read, you'll find that the "big-picture ideas" hold true and, since 2007 we've discovered and refined the details who we are. This publication gives a historical view of where St. Therese Institute was back in its beginnings as we anticipated starting up in Bruno, Saskatchewan on July 1, 2007.
