.::. Our Vision .::. A Message from the Board

There is a Dream in Every Heart...
In every heart there is a vision, a dream for a better world. All of us know, if we are honest with ourselves, that we long for something more. God created us to be empowered in a life of faith and mission. You and I were created to be instruments of God’s love. Together with God, we can transform ourselves and our world.

St. Therese: A Visionary Disciple
St. Therese was a young woman aflame with the love of God. She wrote of her own spiritual journey:

“I no longer know how to ask passionately for anything except that the will of God shall be perfectly accomplished in my soul”.

She is a dynamic witness, revealing how God can accomplish great things in us when we say “Yes” to His will. His will is perfect for us. In His will is the joy and peace St. Therese found. The question for all of us is: Are we willing to participate fully in God’s amazing plan for us; are we willing to trust Him completely?

Sharing Together in God’s Dream
We believe God is awakening a dynamic dream in the heart of the Church. We believe that the Spirit of Jesus is actively inviting the People of God to ‘put out into the deep”; to an intimate and personal relationship with Him today, now. Imagine a people completely alive in a life of faith and mission. God is calling His people – and all of us can share in His dream. As you read this news-letter pray and ask God to reveal to you how you might fit into this vision. We need friends to work together with us in building God’s dream. Please call us today. We need to make extraordinary choices if we are to experience the extraordinary life God offers us.

In Christ’s love,

The St. Therese Board of Directors

Why St. Thérèse of Lisieux?

Why was St. Therese of Lisieux chosen as the patron of this new Institute in Bruno?

When the Board of Directors met to-gether for Mass on Oct. 1, 2004, the inspiration came to name the Institute after St. Therese – Oct. 1 is her feast day.

There are three qualities that St. Therese exemplified that are embodied in the teachings and spiritually of the Institute. First, despite her youth and later her suffering, St. Therese sought excellence in all that she did. Secondly, she is the universal patron of missionaries – hence the St. Therese School (originally, the plan was to open a St. Therese as a school of adult faith formation) is not called a “Bible School,”, but a school of “Faith and Mission” (as the mission of the organization grew, the Institiute was formed as the encompassing organization, also taking the "Faith an Mission" into its title). Last, she has been declared a Doctor of the Church; her doctrine is known as “The Little Way” – doing all things with excellence for the glory of God. (Adobe Flash 8 or higher required)
